A & C Products Scholarship Supports Local Students
May 2013
In May 2013, A & C Products was a sponsor for the Soccorro T. Alcocer San Antonio College’s Annual Women’s Conference Scholarship Awards. The goal of the conference is to assist local women attempting to earn a college degree. A & C Products contributed to the goal by offering three students scholarships. Two of those students received A & C Products’ two-year scholarships. The two-year scholarship allows for a student’s entire degree to be funded all four semesters that the student is enrolled at San Antonio College. Those in attendance were able to discern the diverse backgrounds of each attendee, but it is the students’ attempt at a higher education that connects them. A & C Products is honored to be a link in that chain.
A & C Products Presents 3rd Annual Secret Santa
December 2012
A&C Products employees gathered, with gifts in hand and holiday spirit in heart, at San Antonio College for our annual Secret Santa. With a community first mentality, A&C Products joyously proclaimed the 2012 Secret Santa event a success, as 54 children were brought together to enjoy Christmas festivities.

In the months before, A&C Products receives gift lists that ignite the holiday spirit and humble our hearts. Along with the usual bikes and toy requests, A&C often sees requests for the necessities like socks, belts, and this year, an eraser. A&C Products employees make this event a priority, and together, we provided gifts (including an eraser) to a total of 27 families.

Although the gift tags are addressed to the children, many at A&C Products still feel that by being given the opportunity to give back to the community and those in need, we are really the ones receiving the best gift of all.

A&C Products is looking forward to making the 2013 event even bigger, and has plans to expand the event beyond what we have already done.

A & C Products brings Christmas to San Antonio College Families
December 2010
Tinsel and toys are the norm for most family Christmases. However, in 2010, A & C Products found a community of families who had foregone the customary revelry. Instead of the Christmas presents, mothers were paying for college courses and instead of the festive feast, fathers were buying books required to pass the next history test. These families would go without this year. A & C Products contacted San Antonio College’s Empowerment Center, which concentrates on low income students going through hardship, in the hope that there might be a program in place that would be looking for participants. Though there was no such program, there was a need. No stranger to manufacturing, A & C Products decided to enrich the holiday spirit, by asking their employees to come together and to provide Christmas for 18 families, including a total of 26 children. This program continues to grow; in 2012, A & C Products employees were able to reach 27 families, including 54 children. A & C Products is looking forward to making 2013 even bigger.
A & C Products Goes Computer-Aided Manufacturing with the addition of CNC Mills and CNC Routers
October 2009
A & C Products, the Standard of the Aircraft Window Shade market, fully integrated a 5-Axis Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) machine into the production process. The idea was to ensure all processes are completed in-house, allowing for shorter lead times as well as a product built to A & C Products’ stringent principles. To ensure the CNC was being used to the fullest capabilities, A & C Products’ sent a team of employees to train for proper implementation of these automated machines.

Today, what started as a two-man department with one CNC router, affectionately known as “The Beast,” has grown into a 7 fully trained individuals powering six machines capable of fabricating all hardware in house along with a CNC Programmer to give the customer the ability to change the design of the part. A & C Products continues to invest in this area of manufacturing and attends a variety of classes, in and out of state, to ensure operators are fully trained.
